Vernon L. Woolman, born December 29, 1929, to Rosco and Sarah (Echols) Woolman walked into the arms of Jesus on October 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Vernon graduated from Vinita High School in 1949. Vernon was employed by PSO Electric Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1986. He loved to fish and hunt and golf. He enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in south Texas. On June 1, 2007, Vernon and Charlotte Heltzel Mobley joined hearts and hands forming a new family blessed by a host of family and friends for fifteen wonderful years.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Charlotte, children Larry and Pam Woolman, David Woolman, Susan and Rick Maddux, Julie Woolman, Debbie and Mike Littlejohn, Donna and Randy White and Eddie Mobley. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, also his sister Edith Osborn, several nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Vinita Senior Citizens Center or Neighbors Helping Neighbors in Vernon’s memory.
A memorial service will be held at the Luginbuel Funeral Home chapel Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 am. Pastors Skip McClain, Eddie Wrinkle, and Joel Rutherford will officiate. A private burial will follow at Pheasant Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.
