Ruben Edmond Kerns of Welch, Ok passed away peacefully Sunday June 13, 2021 in Tulsa OK, at the age of 90 years. He was born to Rube and Myrtle Kerns, west of Welch near the Nowata co line. He was one of six children. He lived and worked there most of his life. At the age of 18 he left home to enlist in the US Army and was stationed in El Paso TX. He was married three times. He had one daughter by his first wife Pat. Two sons and one daughter by his second wife Darlene and one additional daughter by his third wife Iva. He leaves behind four children Brenda Palmer, Mitchell Kerns, Rube Kerns and Amanda Kerns as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter Dana Lynn Kerns.
He lived his life farming and ranching. He enjoyed hunting of all sorts but especially coyote hunting. He was an excellent all-around cowboy. He could ride a horse, shoot a gun and best of all, tell a good story. He was known to have a big sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. His hobbies included gardening, playing guitar, singing and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 6:00 ~ 8:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 17, 2021 in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
