Richard Nair

Richard Earl Nair of Bernice, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord at his home on Monday, June 14th, 2021. He was 75 years old. Richard was born on March 17, 1946 to Lillie (Sankey) Nair and Onis Nair in Vinita, Oklahoma. Richard attended elementary and high school in Vinita. He did not complete high school, but later on obtained his GED. He went on to attend NEO to receive his apprenticeship for tool and die maker, and also received his Associate’s from NEO as well. He was employed with Cinch as a tool and die maker for 32 years. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years as a Combat Engineer and served one tour in Vietnam. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, trapping, and was a licensed scuba diver. While an outdoorsman, Richard also had a love for making pies and cobblers (particularly peach).

Richard loved his family. Richard was a devoted family man, especially to his grandchildren, who all knew him as “Papa.”

Richard is preceded in death by his grand parents and parents Onis and Lillie Nair. Richard leaves behind his wife Dollie (Weaver) Nair of the home and children Kristy (Nair) Skaggs and Casey Skaggs of  Bear Valley Springs, CA; Norman and Heather Weathers of Knoxville, TN;  Anna Epperson and fiancé Craig Middleton of Vinita, OK; Chris and Murial Weathers of Enid, OK; brothers John Nair and wife Gloria; and  George (Bud) Nair of Broken Arrow; and grand children; Lindsay Leach, of the home; Dara Skaggs, Bear Valley Springs, CA; Hannah Skaggs, CA;  Aedon Skaggs, Bear Valley Springs, CA; Kensley Epperson, Vinita, Ok; Kaylyn Smith, Vinita, OK;  Alison Middleton, Vinita, OK; David Middleton, Vinita, Ok; Olivia Middleton, Vinita, Ok; Madilyn Weathers, Knoxville, TN; Emily Weathers, Knoxville, TN; Felicity Weathers, Knoxville, TN; Angela Weathers, Enid, OK. Richard also had “honorary granddaughters” Sarah Boys, of Joplin, MO; Summer Miller, of Vinita, OK; Jasmine Harrel of Vinita, OK; and Pvt Logan Harrel of Seattle, WA.

Visitation will be held at Luginbuel Funeral Home on Sunday, June, 20, 2021 from 3pm-5pm.  Memorial service will be Monday, June, 21, 2021, at 2pm at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Ok, with burial at McLaughlin cemetery, in Cleora, OK.
