Oneta Carroll

Oneta B. Carroll, age 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 7. 2020.

Oneta was the daughter of James and Minnie Lea (Pearce) Bishop.  She was born on March 26, 1921 along with her twin brother Otis, in Jay, Oklahoma on the Creekmore Ranch and was a lifetime resident of Jay.

Oneta was united in marriage to Orville Carroll and shared 70 wonderful years together before his passing in 2007.  Oneta, along with many young women served her country during WWII.  She was a tack-welder in Los Angeles, California.  She was a member of the American Rosie Riveters Association.  Oneta was a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking and baking delicious meals for her family.  She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and making beautiful quilts.  Oneta was a Christian and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Jay where she was active for many years.

Oneta was preceded in death by her parents; James and Minnie Lea, husband Orville; four sisters, four brothers and her infant first born son.  She is survived by four children; Bob (Regenia) Carroll of Jay, OK, Joneta (Gary) Carroll-Frye of Clarksville, TX, Roger (Karen) Carroll of Jay, OK and Billy (Sharon) Carroll of Claremore, OK.  Oneta was blessed with twelve grandchildren; James (Susie) Carroll of Eugene, OR, Shawn (Jennifer) Frye of Keller, TX, Shane (Michelle) Carroll of Eucha, OK, Chad (Kym) Frye of Ft. Collins, CO.,  Heath (Cory) Carroll of Jay, OK, Jeremy Frye of Denton, TX, Jennifer (Jeff) Carroll-Kreymer of Norman, OK, Leanna (James) Carroll-Self of Claremore, OK, Aneta Beth (Steve) Frye-Kinman of Berlin, Germany, Mandy Carroll-Parish of Claremore, OK, Suzy (Jason) Laws-Rush of Jay, OK and Chevy (Elizabeth) Gann of Eucha, OK; 36 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, OK.  Services are scheduled for 3 PM on Wednesday February, 12, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Jay, Oklahoma.  Oneta will be laid to rest in the Duffield Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Worley-Luginbuel Facebook page.
