Ola Mcfarland

Ola Mae (Swartwood) McFarland passed away on February 10th, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, on June 19, 1940, to Rosa Mae & Oldis Olden Swartwood. Ola’s mother remarried and Ola was raised by her mother Rosa Mae and her step father, Laverne Tanner. She lived most of her life in Centralia, Oklahoma and in Vinita, Oklahoma.

Ola married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) McFarland Jr. on January 7, 1956, in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Ola & her husband Bob loved to travel and lived in several different States during their marriage. Ola was a caregiver most of her life outside of the home. She worked for many years as a CMA at Home of Hope and Home Stead. She loved family gatherings and just spending time with her family. She loved each and every one of her children & grandchildren. They were her whole life.

Ola was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) McFarland Jr., her son Robert (Bud) McFarland III, her parents, Rosa Mae & Laverne Tanner, & Oldis Olden Swartwood, one granddaughter, Terry Lynn Harris.

Ola is survived by five daughters & one son; Pamela & husband George West of Vinita, Ok., Janet & husband Michael Hudson of Afton, Ok., Kathy & husband Craig Hopper of Vinita, Ok., Bobbie and husband Eric Smith of Tulsa, Ok., Lori and husband Jameal Mackey of Tulsa, Ok., Floyd Dee McFarland of Vinita, Oklahoma, 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, & 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Casket Bearers are Robert West, Dan Peetoom, Jameal Mackey, Roger McFarland, Shawn Bowers, & Bill Copeland.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Vinita Oklahoma, with Reverend Andrew Haire officiating. The family will receive friends during the visitation on Thursday, February 18, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel.
