Norma Rhea Gilcrease, 76 of Paris, Arkansas, passed in Grove, Oklahoma on December 4th, 2020. She was surrounded by love and comfort in her final days. Born and raised in Paris, Arkansas, Norma was a woman of many trades. She always spoke her mind, regardless of who was around. She was known to never sugar coat anything, which was a blessing and a curse at times. She was greatly loved by many friends, and family.
Norma attended beauty college, and practiced cosmetology for many years. Later in life, she worked at Baldor, and then at the nursing home that her mother had also volunteered at.
Norma never met a stranger and was always willing to tell you her life history, or share a story to ease your mind, or give you a good laugh. I know many of us can hear her telling one of her famous jokes, or stories, which we can keep in our hearts forever. Norma was a well-versed movie buff, her favorites being action movies, and westerns. There was not a single movie you could show her that she had not seen at least once. She was an amazing cook, and to this day, her granddaughter is still trying to master her thanksgiving dressing recipe. But her favorite thing in the world was her sweet dog, Bubby, who passed by her side. Bubby was her best friend, and the center of her heart.
Norma was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Irene Parks, and Otis Drewry, and her brother, Gerald Drewry.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Dodd, Her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debra Rainey, and two granddaughters,
Isabella Rainey, and Sarah Mason.
Norma's service has been postponed to March of 2021, in order to ensure all of her loved ones are able to attend safely.
This service will be held in Paris, Arkansas. If you would like further updates on details, and times, please contact her
granddaughter, Sarah Mason, at 918-964-0083.
