Millie Waddle, 88-year-old Vinita resident, went to her eternal home on February 26, 2022, with her family at her side. She was born September 8,1933, in Vinita, to Hugh Story and Myrtle (Bryant) Story. Millie was a graduate of Afton High School. She was a woman of great faith, loved her family unconditionally and was a true Proverbs 31 woman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita for 60 plus years. On June 15, 1956, she married the love of her life, Patrick Waddle. A loving marriage that lasted 58 years. Millie worked at Eastern State Hospital for 35 years and made many lifelong friends there. She loved watching OU football and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Millie enjoyed cooking for her family, holiday seasons, and having all the family together. Above all she loved her family. Each one of them had a special place in her heart and she cherished the time she had with them. Millie will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Millie Waddle in death are her parents, Hugh and Myrtle Story, husband, Pat, a brother, Jim Story, and a nephew Hugh Scott Story. Survivors include her children, Brenda Herman and husband Howard, Lou Ann Postier, Kevin Waddle; grandchildren, Kristie Seaton and husband Shad, Emily Lee and husband Dustin, Chris Postier and wife Jesilynne, Erin Waddle; great grandchildren, Taylor Nolte and husband Brandon, William Seaton Stella Lee Hank Lee; brother Gary Story and wife Shirley; sister-in-law, Margie Story; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Lois Waddle; best friend Fernalee Earhart; a special daughter Denise Bowline; many other relatives and a host of friends.
A visitation for Millie Waddle will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Vinita. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or see our Facebook page.
