Mary Bridges

Mary E. Bridges was born on July 16, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Tommy and Juanita (Woolman) Bridges.  She passed away on July 28, 2021, at her home in Vinita, Oklahoma.

Mary resided in Tulsa, OK until the summer of 1969 before moving to Vinita, Oklahoma. She graduated from Vinita High School in 1976. Following graduation, Mary worked at Eastern State Hospital before taking a position as a legal secretary at Bailey and Frye. She later became a medical transcriptionist for Craig General Hospital, where she stayed until her retirement. Mary had a great laugh that could be heard in the presence of her close friends and family. She loved to quilt, crochet, work puzzles and was a formidable Scrabble player.  Mary also loved hanging out with her lifelong friend, Julie. They still enjoyed days out and recently took a Mother’s Day trip.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Bridges; her parents, Tommy Bridges and Juanita Woolman, and grandparents, John and Mary Bridges and Cecil and Edith Harvey.

Mary is survived by her brother, John Bridges and wife Kathryn Tiberend of Napa, California; sister, Sally Boyne and husband Rick of Wagoner; two nieces, Audrey Ellis and husband John of Coweta, Emily Boyne of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Landon Johnson of Vinita, Kellsie Foreman of Ponca City as well as two great grandchildren, Adalynn and Aria.

A graveside service will be held at Walker Cemetery in Welch, OK, on Monday, August 09, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
