Lloyd Paul Wood sixty two year old Vinita resident passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 in Joplin, Missouri. He was born December 28, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of William Eugene Wood and Helen Geraldine (Burton) Wood. Lloyd attended school at Webster in Tulsa before moving to Afton and graduating from Afton High School. He was a career truck driver. After he retired from trucking, he started teaching others to drive a truck. Lloyd was an avid wood worker building many things, he also enjoyed hunting and guns, but most of all Lloyd loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen.
Lloyd is survived by three sons, Lloyd M. Wood and wife Kandie of Afton, Eddie Brown of Tulsa, John Forrester of Tulsa; four daughters, Clarina Jenkins and husband Daniel of Afton, Memory Pickering and husband Levi of The Colony, Texas, Melody Shufeldt and husband Brian of Lenapah, Jennifer Franks and husband John of Tulsa; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a sister Mary Macey of Broken Arrow.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, August 20, 2021, at McLaughlin Cemetery, Cleora, OK with Pastor Tom Schulze officiating. Burial to follow at McLaughlin Cemetery.
