Kyle Wayne McElroy

Kyle Wayne McElroy of Vinita, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on May 14, 1950, Kyle lived most of his time on the family farm in Bixby. There he enjoyed the company of his mother and nieces and nephew when they visited. Kyle was a voracious reader of newspapers and political and spiritual books. He retained and could recite most of the information he read. His family called him a walking encyclopedia of trivia. He loved to match wits with anyone who was up to the challenge.

He attended Bixby High School, graduating with the class of 1969 before continuing his studies at Rogers Community College and then graduating with a four-year degree in political science and theology from ACC college. Kyle proudly served in the Air Force as a medic, dedicating his time and energy to protecting his country.

Kyle enjoyed reading, traveling, and visiting with people. He loved meeting new people and talking about whatever subject they wished.

Kyle was preceded in death by his parents, Winston McElroy of Tulsa, and Jeanne Moore McElroy of Bixby, as well as his younger brother Kevin McElroy of Wewoka. Kyle is survived by his sister, Kimberly Alligood and husband Jonathan of North Carolina and his son, Aaron Reinhardt, and wife Kalyn, of Bixby, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind three nieces, Tiffany Falls of Flagstaff, AZ and husband John, Alison Sparks of Grand Prairie, TX and husband Ben, Rachel Gallagher of Oklahoma and husband Jeremiah, a nephew, Ben Manners of Overland Park, KS and wife Maddy, first cousins Leesa McElroy of Colleyville, TX and Danny McElroy of Garland, TX, and Sonja McElroy of Alhambra, CA, other cherished cousins, and three grandchildren. Kyle's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories we hold dear. May he rest in the arms of our loving Savior and be at peace.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemoriesvinita.com or on the funeral home Facebook page.

Arrangements are in the care of Luginbuel Funeral Home. “Family owned. Locally operated.”
