Kevin Williams

June 19, 1955 — January 30, 2022

Vinita

Kevin Elizabeth (Grider) Williams, of Vinita passed away on January 30, 2022. She surely ran to the waiting arms of her Savior and was greeted gleefully by her mother and father whom she missed with all her heart. Kevin loved babies, craft shows, new shoes, trips to Boston, a clean kitchen, and shopping with her beloved friends. She made everything beautiful.

Kevin was welcomed into the world on June 19, 1955, to Lela Virginia (Potts) and Robert Lee Grider in Claremore. She was born on Father’s Day and was a blessing to her parents and her five brothers all who loved, protected, and by all accounts catered to her every whim.

Kevin married her eternal companion Curtis Samuel Williams on November 29, 1974, after meeting in Langley Ok at the Grand Lake Rec Center. Sparks flew and after a whirlwind three-week courtship and much to both of their mothers’ dismay they married in a small ceremony in her mother’s home. They could have easily given up but remained loyal and true to one another for 47 years. Kevin would light a fire under Curt anytime she felt he needed it. No doubt, she will still remind him of all the things that need tending to, and she will remind him to get the dog off the couch.

Kevin was mom to Kellye Evon and Seth Samuel. There was nothing in heaven or on earth that could keep her from getting to them anytime they needed her. They were her greatest accomplishment. They could never doubt her devotion and love for them because she told them every day. She understood being a mother was a divine calling given from a loving Father in Heaven. She adored and fulfllled that calling beautifully. She poured her soul into caring for them. She was Grammy to Isaiah, Katherine, Israel, Annalee, and Lorelei. She loved them with everything she had. There were always packages on the front steps, a little money for a treat in the mailbox, and Christmas pjs. To her they were the most important people in the world. The constant question asked by them was “When will Grammy be here next and how long will she get to stay?”

Kevin operated a daycare, Kids Castle and touched the lives of so many children. She certainly made her home a castle for every child who entered the door. She sang, she read, she wiped tears, and she hugged tight. Everyone loved Ms. Kevin and every child looked forward to Monday when it was time to go back to her for the week.

Kevin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She understood her infinite worth as a daughter of God. She knew the importance of serving both friends and strangers. She had and continues to have a testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and His infinite atonement and the surety that because of His sacrifice and resurrection we can all be together again. That knowledge is a priceless blessing.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father Lela Virginia and Robert Grider, her older sister Kellye Evon whom she never had the opportunity to meet on earth, and brothers Bob, Rocky and Steve. That reunion must be something to see.

Kevin is survived by her husband Curtis, her son Seth, her daughter Kellye and husband Austin McHoul, and grandchildren Isaiah, Katherine, Israel, Annalee and Lorelei, and her much loved brothers, Harold DeMoss (Helen), and Rudye Grider (Jeana) along with several nieces and nephews. Her family is grateful for the knowledge families are indeed forever.
