Kelly Leon Herman, 89, of Vinita Passed away in Vinita at the Heartsworth Senior Living Center on July 31, 2022, with his family at his side. He was born November 1, 1932, in Achille, Oklahoma, to Joe and Elfie Gladys (Taylor) Herman. Kelly married the love of his life Glenna June Walker on December 24, 1955, and they were together over 65 years. Kelly was a truck driver working for over 45 years at Elliott Truck Lines in Vinita. He was recognized for achieving one million miles and eleven years without a chargeable accident. For years he enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at different restaurants and places around Vinita. He was a member of the Craig County Baptist Church in Vinita. He loved serving there as a greeter, doing Meals on Wheels, and caring for the landscape around the Church, or just visiting with everyone to make them feel welcome. He was a Christian man and a family man who loved all his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Kelly in death was his wife June, parents, Joe and Elfie Herman, plus numerous siblings.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Herman Dyke, of Tulsa, Doug Herman, and wife Rosemary, of Grove, Mitch Herman, of Vinita, Stacy Herman, and wife Sara, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, a very special friend that Kelly and June had for many years, Babe Skinner, other relatives, and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 20, 2022, at the Craig County Baptist Church in Vinita. Services will begin at 11 am followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
