Kay Ann Rose lived life for 70 years. She passed away peacefully in the early morning on Friday, July 9th. Kay is reunited with her parents, Preston and Kathleen Roberts and brother, Preston Lynn Roberts. Kay is mother to Gary Sutton of Panama City, Florida and daughters Susan Weeks and Shalon Sharpe, both of Ketchum, OK. Kay is Nana to 5 grandchildren: Jeylyn Sharpe, of Claremore, OK and Bobbie West-Callison, Kari West, Jade Sharpe and Casen Weeks all of Ketchum, OK. She is great-nana to Sutton and Emmerson Callison and Cove Vandiver. Kay is survived by her little sister and brother-in-law Helen and Bruce Page of Spavinaw, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay lived most of her life on cemetery road in Spavinaw, Ok and later in life resided in Vinita, OK where she was known as Mrs. Kay, a teacher at the Head Start for 27 years. She loved children. She had a flare for the dramatic which lent itself to meticulous, detailed stories she would tell which kept the attention of both young and old. Her creativity and hard work ethics lives on in her children and grandchildren today. Kay spoke her mind. She was fearless and fierce to protect those close to her. Many a school principal, referee and ex-husband have all heard a piece of her mind. We will always remember her as being feisty, funny, and charismatic, an excellent cook and a Daddy's girl. If you were in Kay's life, you knew she "loved you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
