Judy D. Powell

Judy Doreen Powell, 62, of Ketchum, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 1, 2023. She was born in Sterling, Colorado, on March 3, 1961, to John R. Hardy and Pearl (Peterson) Hardy.

Judy grew up in Birdcity, Kansas, graduating from Cheylin High School in 1979.On April 26, 1980, Judy married the love of her life, John, in Kansas. Judy was a dedicated homemaker, tending to the needs of her home and family. She was musically talented and was able to play many instruments. Judy was heavily involved in the community. Throughout the years, Judy coached baseball for 4 years, was the coordinator of the Christmas Parade in Ketchum for 3 years and served as a leader for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years. She was also involved with the marching band.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother: Pearl Hardy; her siblings: Jason Hardy and Danny Hardy; and her grandparents.

Those left to cherish the memory of Judy include her husband, John Powell; her children: David Powell, Josh Powell and wife, Tineta, and Kimberly Weaver; her father: John R. Hardy, her siblings: Mike Hardy, Vicky Chessmore, Diana Colvin, and Redonna Helms; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as other family members and friends.

The Family of Mrs. Powell have entrusted her love and care to the staff of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Oklahoma from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Ketchum Cemetery with Pastor Bill Foster officiating.
