Long time Craig County Sheriff Jaye Dayne Solomon “JD” Baldridge, 88, passed away at his home with his family at his side on Friday, January 28, 2022. JD was born in Strang, Oklahoma, to Solomon S. Baldridge and Rosa (Parks) Baldridge, on August 20, 1933. He was educated at the Mayes County Island Ford School. JD served as a Deacon at the Sunrise Baptist Church which is now the Serenity Baptist Church. He married Minnie Lee Downing and later was married to Fosca Weeks. JD enjoyed listening to Blues music, going to concerts, playing the guitar, and considered himself as the best dancer around. He enjoyed life, fishing, hunting, frog gigging, and chasing coon dogs all over the county. JD loved meeting and visiting with people. He loved his work in law enforcement and looked forward to serving the people of Craig County. Above all, he loved his family. He loved spending time with them and enjoyed joking and being onery. JD was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Mr. Baldridge in death are his parents, Solomon, and Rosa Baldridge; wives, Minnie and Fosca; a daughter, Janice Baldridge; one granddaughter; four great grandchildren; siblings, Hazel Vestle, Marie Rowe, Gervina Baldridge, Donald Baldridge, and Charles Baldridge.
Survivors include his Children Roy Dean Baldridge and wife Carol, of Vinita, Diana D. Baldridge Powers, of Memphis, Tennessee, Larry Arnell Baldridge and wife Avis, of Vinita, Alesia Thurston and husband Anthony, of Houston, Texas, Jaye Dee Baldridge, of White Oak, Donna Steward and husband Barra, of Wagoner, Tonya Karlsson and husband Jon, of Vinita, Sonya Spires of Houston, Texas; step-children, Arvella Schulze, Darrell Downing, Ronda Downing and Tommy Downing; twenty one grandchildren; fifty one great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Services for JD Baldridge will be Saturday May 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or see our Facebook page.
