Jacky Marvin Brookfield, 78 year old Vinita resident, passed from this life at Ignite Medical, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on December 30, 2021. He was born in Vinita on November 10, 1943, to Charles Edwin Brookfield and Emma Jean Humphrey.
Jacky was a 1962 graduate of Vinita High School. After graduating he joined the United States Navy and served until being honorably discharged.
Jacky’s achievements include being a 1967 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member, receiving his associates degree in arts from Northeastern Oklahoma University. On January 17, 1969, he earned his bachelor’s degree in arts and his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Oklahoma, October 21, 2010. He worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, and Willow Crest in Miami, Oklahoma as a social worker.
Jacky loved spending time with family and friends and was Baptist by faith.
Preceding Jacky in death are his parents, Charles Edwin Brookfield and Emma Jean Humphrey, brothers Johnny Harris and Jimmy Brookfield, and nephew Thomas Harris. He is survived by his nephews Vincent Brookfield of Atoka, Oklahoma, Sammy Gilmer of Lakewood California, and Christopher Brookfield, and a host of cousins and friends.
Services for Mr. Brookfield will be held 11:00 am Friday January 7, 2022, at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Vinita Oklahoma. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Luginbuel Funeral Home Facebook page.
