Lifelong Vinita resident George Edward Parrish passed away on August 8,2022, in Vinita. He was born in Vinita on March 8,1951, to Charles William Parrish, and Mary June (McFail) Parish. He attended Vinita and Tahlequah Sequoyah Schools. George worked for many farmers hauling hay and doing chores around the farm. He was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He loved cats and all the animals that came around the home such as squirrels, racoons, and possums. Most of all he loved his family. He was quite a character and loved to prank his family and friends. George “Tarzan” Parrish will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding George Parrish in death are his parents, Charles and Mary Parrish, sister Georgia Adellia, brother Dale Allen, and brother-in-law, Joe Veech.
Survivors include his sisters, Nancy Moreland of Nowata, Lottie Bunch and husband Douglas of Grove, Julia Parrish of Vinita, Jennifer Therldkeld, nieces and nephews, Dough Bunch Jr., Larissa Bunch Flournoy, many other relatives, and a host of friends.
