On the evening of July 13, 2023, Our Heavenly Father called Eddie Ralph Berry home to receive his eternal reward and was met at the gates of glory by the love of his life Shirley. Eddie was born on October 19, 1932, in Vinita, Oklahoma, the son of Edgar and Mary (Wofford) Berry.
Eddie joined the United States Army and was stationed in Greenland for a time before returning home. He was employed with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. His work ethic was admired, and he only missed a few days in his 37 years with the company.
Eddie was a devout Christian and knew the true meaning of having the love of our Savior. He and his wife Shirley were members of the First United Methodist Church. Eddie was a family man and always put his family first in his life. He had a heart of gold and loved people. Eddie rarely met a stranger and shared his love for people with each person he encountered.
Eddie always put others first and volunteered to help anyone in any way he could including The Eastern Trails Museum and meals on wheels. He could always be found putting others first.
Eddie loved many things in life but always took time to enjoy the small things, he loved to fish and piddle in his garage, but most of all he loved helping people. He was the definition of having a servant’s heart.
Those meeting Mr. Berry at the gates of heaven include the love of his life Shirley and host of friends and relatives.
Those left to cherish the memory of a wonderful man include his children, Sam (Diana), Vickie (Berry), Bob (Pat), three Grandsons, two granddaughters and one great grandchild, and a host of other loved ones.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday July 20, 2023, from3:00 pm to 5:00 pm for family and 5:00pm to 7:00 pm for friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 21, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Vinita, with Pastor Andrew Haire Officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Eastern Trails Museum in Vinita.
