Diana Gay Litchfield

Diana Gay Litchfield, Claremore, Oklahoma resident received her heavenly reward on September 4, 2023 following a brave battle against cancer.  Diana took her first breath of life on May 2, 1960, in California, a beautiful daughter to Dale and Mary Jane Litchfield both native Oklahomans who were visiting family in California with her two-year-old sister at the time of her somewhat early arrival.

Diana had a strong faith and was an active, admired and long-time member of the New Life Baptist Church in Claremore where she had many, many friends she always called her ‘brothers and sisters’. Diana was a loving friend to all, and never met a stranger. She truly showed what the love of Christ was to all she encountered.

Diana had a love for the Little House on the Prairie and could often be found enjoying an ice-cold cherry Dr. Pepper from Sonic, which was her favorite. In support of many in her family, she was a huge Oklahoma University fan! When not working at Home of Hope’s Centsible Spending in Claremore, a role she absolutely loved and took very seriously, she often could be found playing games on her phone or listening to her favorite country music.

Diana was a beautiful soul, with a sweet kindred spirit, she truly will be missed by all who knew her.

Those who met her at the gates of Heaven include her mother and father, two younger brothers Dale Jr and DC, grandparents Fred and Jean Brooks, Rollen and Margie Litchfield, one adopted grandpa Paul Babiak, aunts Janey Blevins and Betty Pankey, one uncle Alan Litchfield, as well as her long time roommate Anita and numerous other family and friends.

Those left to cherish the memory of such a beautiful soul include one sister and brother-in-law Jan and Brian Babiak, a devoted cousin Angela Blevins, uncles and aunts Larry Blevins, Joe and Dorothy Litchfield, and Alex Pankey. Her adopted family, which she loved so, included ‘Grandma’ Jewel Babiak and Brian’s sisters and their families Kelly, Loc, Jason and Cai Le and Karen, Warren, Chantelle and Chrisopher Farrell, and Diana’s roommate Lisa and her entire Home of Hope family including Avery, Andrea, Annemarie, Amy, Trish and more plus her beloved church family.

The family of Miss Litchfield have entrusted her care to the loving staff of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Oklahoma and are so very grateful for the compassion and attentive care provided by the incredible professionals at Sun Crest Hospice, Emerald Care Center in Claremore as well as St Francis Hospital and PAM LTAC in Tulsa.
