Deloris Jeane Egnor, 84-year-old Big Cabin resident, passed away November 7, 2024, in Tulsa. She was born May 7, 1940, to Joseph Andrew Smithey and Hattie Evelynn (Boydston) Smithey. Deloris attended Big Cabin schools and graduated with the class of 1958, President of her class.
Deloris married the love of her life, Cecil Egnor July 5, 1959, at Big Cabin Baptist Church in Big Cabin, Oklahoma. The two were married 65 years. She worked at the Vinita Laundry folding sheets when she was younger. Later, she worked at Goins Construction, and later, retired from the United States Postal Service as the Big Cabin Postmaster.
Deloris was a member of the Big Cabin Country Club as well as the Big Cabin Baptist Church where she and Cecil faithfully attended. Deloris sang in the choir and was the church clerk. She also was active with the Disney Baptist Youth Camp where she sponsored and attended with kids from the surrounding area. In fact, Deloris would do anything that would draw people to faith in Jesus.
Deloris loved her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed traveling with Cecil during his service on the board of Craig General Hospital. Her favorite place to visit was Branson, where she and Cecil made three to four trips a year; but her favorite Branson trips were to see the lights at Christmas.
A true encourager and servant hearted person, Deloris would deliver home cooked meals to folks in the church and community during various times of need in their lives. She would often share her canned goods prepared from her home-grown garden. In addition, she also was known for her cards of encouragement that touched countless lives.
Deloris is survived by her husband, Cecil, of the home; children Jeffery Egnor and wife, Deborah, of Broken Arrow, Lisa Gladieux of Big Cabin, Julie Dean and husband, Jeff, of Big Cabin, and Travis Egnor, who lived with them for several years, and wife, Julia, of Mustang; grandchildren, Jennifer Buckner and husband, Brian, of Broken Arrow, Carrie Whelan of Bentonville, Arkansas, Amy Robinson and husband, Matt, of Coweta, Sasha Martin of Big Cabin, Mac Martin and wife, Megan, of Eucha, Reanna White and husband, Mike, of Big Cabin, Blane Dean of Owasso, and Hanna Dean of Oklahoma City; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Barlass and husband, Walter, of Adair and Sharon Coppedge and husband, Gary, of Big Cabin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Gerald Smithey; son-in-law, Ron Gladieux; and sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Joe Smith.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Luginbuel Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Big Cabin Baptist Church with Pastors Shane Funkhouser, Tanner Shoop, and Mr. Steve Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Cabin Cemetery with Brian Buckner, Blane Dean, Jeff Dean, Travis Egnor, Mac Martin, and Matt Robinson serving as casket bearers.
