Della Ernestine Wright

Della Ernestine Wright, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully on September 6, 2024, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on February 26, 1940, in Garfield, Arkansas, Della lived a life characterized by her unwavering generosity, compassion, and a profound commitment to lifting others. 

Della was well-known in her community as a Certified Nurses Aid for St. Francis Hospital and a dedicated volunteer for Senior Companions. Her career reflected her deep-seated desire to care for others, a quality that was apparent in every aspect of her life. 

Family was the cornerstone of Della's life. She is survived by her beloved children: Rick Wright and his wife Cassie; Larry Wright and his wife Jean; and Roger Wright and his wife Michelle. Della found immense joy in her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, often expressing how they brought light to her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be held dear by all. 

Della's siblings, sister Loretta Tugmon and brother James McClain, along with many nieces and nephews, continue to honor her legacy. Della’s life was not just about her immediate family; she was a loving part of a larger circle, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. 

Her late parents, Gladys and Edward McClain, along with her siblings—Lawrence McClain, R.L. Phillips, Dee Scott, and Shirley Buford—and son, Ronnie Wright preceded her in death, but their spirits undoubtedly remain within the family she cherished so deeply. 

A vibrant soul, Della loved to gather her family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which were her favorite holidays. These occasions not only allowed her to give gifts but also to envelop herself in the warmth of family togetherness. She had a passion for flowers, enjoyed reading, and loved moments spent playing pitch with her family. Della also had a fondness for mysteries, particularly those thrilling suspense movies from Lifetime, alongside a spirited interest in discussing politics. 

Her kindness resonated with everyone she met, and her laughter still echoes in the hearts of her loved ones. As we celebrate Della's remarkable life, we invite friends and family to remember her at the following services: a visitation will be held on September 10, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Langley, Oklahoma, followed by a Celebration of Life on September 11, 2024, at 10 AM at First Christian Church Langley with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Ketchum Cemetery with Bryce Wright, Eric Wright, Ashton Wright, Zac Wright, Cody Wright, and Dacota Wright serving as casket bearer. 

Della Ernestine Wright leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion, reminding us all to cherish family and friends and to live life fully.
