Chester Floyd Smith passed away April 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family in Pensacola. He was born February 4, 1940 in Tiawah the son of Buster Luther Smith and Codie (Smithey) Smith. Chester graduated from Claremore High School. He was a master carpenter. Chester married Nancy “JO” Sadler on June 7, 1985. Chester was a member of the South Grand Lake Christian Church. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar and performed in a blues band for many years. Chester enjoyed fishing, gardening, and canning his own food. Some of his most cherished times were church dinners and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Shirley Ann (Lewis) Smith.
Chester is survived by his loving wife, Nancy “Jo” Smith of the home; daughter, Malinda Sheryl Smith of Pryor; sons, Coy Randell Smith and wife Cassandra of Calvert, Alabama, Jeff Daniel of Tulsa, Corey Daniel of Tulsa, five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirlene Walkingstick and husband Gerald of Ft. Gibson, and Linda McClurg of Claremore.
The family will have a Memorial Service Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at the South Grand Lake Christian Church.
