Carolyn Allen, a remarkable woman of wisdom and grace, peacefully departed from this world at the age of 90, on October 16, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home. Carolyn's passing is a moment of both sorrow and reflection, as we celebrate a life well-lived and remember the cherished memories she leaves behind.
Carolyn was born to her loving parents, Frank Maxwell Allen and Cleo Theta Parisho in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her brother, Glenn Edward Allen, preceded her in death. Her legacy lives on through her surviving family, including her niece, Denise Allen Andrew, her nephew, Glenn Edward Allen II, her grand-nieces Sydney Andrew Haanpaa (Andrew Haanpaa, husband), Angie Allen, Gabrielle Andrew, and grand-nephews Glenn Edward Allen III and Nathaniel Andrew (Luna Vallejo, wife).
Carolyn was born, raised and educated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where she pursued her passion earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. After graduating, she held an instructorship in the College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma.
Carolyn then embarked on a new adventure, joining the Foreign Service of the Department of State. Her distinguished service spanned several decades until her well-earned retirement in 1986, where she held the esteemed rank of Counselor of Embassy. Carolyn's work in economics left an indelible mark on the world, and her legacy as a dedicated public servant endures.
Post-retirement, Carolyn found solace and contentment in a serene community of The Coves on Grand Lake. She remained active and engaged, volunteering her time and expertise to various organizations, including her invaluable mentorship with the Small Business Commission. Carolyn's compassionate nature shone brightly through her commitment to helping others.
The Coves on Grand Lake became Carolyn's haven, where she reveled in the beauty of nature, cherished her close friendships, and shared her love with her beloved dogs. Carolyn's passion for culinary arts was renowned, as she generously hosted and cooked for family and friends, creating countless moments of joy and connection.
Carolyn Allen's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory and the imprints she left on our hearts will forever keep her spirit alive. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication, her love for her community, and her generosity of spirit. Her legacy is an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
